About the Exhibit
The Keeper is a short animated film created by TRNZ in collaboration with Fleet Studios. It explores the gravity of pressure in our society, and how the most important things fall through the cracks in the pursuit of success, accolades, and external validation.
The story reveals the struggle of a trophy-room keeper as she pursues an unwanted visitor around an otherwise overly organized and well-kept room. She discovers that life will happening -under her very nose- despite her lack of attention to it.
TRNZ is a visual artist whose paintings draw from understated, quotidian scenes that hover between familiarity and unease. His works depict ordinary events and unassuming characters that deceptively appear light-hearted, yet carry emotional baggage.
These images are built from what the artist calls fragments, vague, persistent impressions that may or may not be autobiographical, assembled from personal recollection, found photographs, and images encountered online.
