art/n23 is an agency for Philippine art and design. The name draws from the Tropic of Cancer, the 23rd parallel North of the equator situating the Philippine islands. It designates the upper limits of the tropical zone on the globe, the problematics and beauty of which are exposed by artists in these areas.
Co-founders Cristina Herfort and Sandra Palomar met in France and graduated from Science-Po and École des Beaux Arts in Paris respectively. Herfort now lives in Brussels and collects contemporary and Philippine tribal art. Palomar teaches arts management and fine arts courses concurrently with a private art practice.
