About Avellana ArtGallery

Avellana Art Gallery, founded in 1997, is the brainchild of the late Albert Avellana, a gallerist and curator whose creative passion and vision fueled many memorable exhibitions and shows within and beyond its two-storey-home-turned-art space in Pasay City.

Avellana’s background in architecture and fine arts studies in painting, coupled with his insatiable curiosity and imagination, has inspired his decades of passion in developing his gallery practice. A former five-year-term president of Museum Foundation of the Philippines (2016-2021), his personal mission was to support art that is faithful to Filipino culture and stirrings and nurture a gallery-artist relationship that respects the temperament and pace of individual artists, without caving into highly commercialized art.

Avellana ArtGallery’s collections and exhibits are as varied as the artists on show—ranging from celebrated artists such as Florencio B. Concepcion, Pandy Aviado, Benjie Torrado Cabrera, and Noell EL Farol to multi-awarded artists like Allain Hablo, Eugene Jarque, Mac Valdezco, Lynyrd Paras, Ryan Rubio, and Joey Cobcobo.

Opening doors and opportunities for Filipino artists since the ’90s, Avellana ArtGallery proudly serves as an entryway into the diverse and abundant offerings by local talents, serving as the launchpad of emerging artists while supporting established and senior artists through its rotation of exhibitions displaying significant and recent works.
